Fedoweb – Federation of web operators is the largest association of on-line publishers and operators in Italy. Created in 2000 to promote the internet as a means of advertising and communication, today Fedoweb brings together the main publishing groups, television broadcasters and the leading web operators and stands out in the Italian market owing to the different media it represents.
With 17 associates, Fedoweb represents around 80% of the on-line publishing market with a total of over 30,000 employees and 1.2 billion Euros deriving from on-line sales and advertising.
Fedoweb is committed to promoting initiatives aimed at enhancing the network and their innovative potential. Fedoweb analyses the changes and impacts which digital transformations are generating in advertising, communication and media and puts forward collective solutions and proposals for the problems which are common to its own associates.
Fedoweb is a shareholder in Audiweb, the body that detects and distributes Internet audience data in Italy, providing data which is objective, quantitative and qualitative, on the use of the medium, which is essential for assessing the market and investments.
Audiweb is a Joint Industry Committee owned by trade associations representing market participants: Fedoweb (50% with 12 directors out of 24), representing operators and on-line publishers, UPA Associated Advertising Users (25%), representing national and multinational companies that invest in advertising and Assap Servizi s.r.l., the services company of AssoCom (25%), an association of agencies and media centres operating in Italy.
Fedoweb through the management of the Technical Committee, cooperates in the formulating of the measurement strategy.
Fedoweb plays an active role in representing its members to government institutions, and inter-associative organisations and regulators.
Fedoweb belongs to the IAP, Institute of Advertising Self-Regulation, to promote responsible, correct and transparent advertising communication.
